No bowling happened yesterday. Sophie & I did a little shopping, and then met up with Linda and a friend of ours who has a dog, at a local lake that has nice trails in the woods next to the lake. We walked in that fierce wind, but it was wonderful. Saw lots of dogs and people and Sophie got to walk Brisco, so both dog & child were nicely exercised!
When we returned home, Sophie & I cleaned out the garage - some stuff the prior owners left and LOTS of cobwebs and sand/dirt. When we were done, it was spotless, big and just begging for the car to be put in it! One small problem is that the garage door automatic opener needs to be looked at. The prior owner didn't have the remote anymore, so I have to get a couple of those. Also, the key thingee on the outside seems to need some tweaking and most likely replacing. But it works, but I don't want to wait too long before having someone look at it, as it would be a bitch to have the car get stuck in there.
In the Condo rule book, it says that each unit has a reserved parking spot and a garage. Visitor spots are for visitors. Well, since we've moved in, one of our cars has been in a visitors spot, as we hadn't gotten the energy/time to clean out the garage. So we won't have anyone needing to 'speak to us' about breaking any rules.
This morning's plan was that Linda was going to meet some friends for a bike ride/training session and I would head to the gym (for the first time since December!)after dropping Sophie off at Sunday school.
All was well, until I was pulling out of the Temple parking lot, when my cell phone rang. It was Linda. It seemed that there was miscommunication between the bike riders and they weren't going to ride til the afternoon. Since UCONN was playing at noon, there was no way that SHE was going biking at that time, so she was calling to see if I wanted to go out for a ride with her.
So we took my bike out of the basement and got the bikes on the rack and off we went, stopping to put some air in my tires. We looked good and it was about 40 out. We headed up into the hills of Easton, parked the car and took off on a rolling hills kind of road.
Did I mention that this was the first time I was exerting energy in about 3 months? And the first time I was getting my butt on the bike? Oh. My. God.
I didn't do too badly - we rode about 5.5 miles in about 35 minutes, but by the time we got back to the car, I was feeling light-headed and asked Linda to drive us home, so I could just drink water, lie back and close my eyes. Holy crap. Not good.
I was glad I went, though, as we'll be inside the rest of the day. My body feels rejuvenated. The hot shower was absolutely incredible.
I'm currently watching my UCONN gals shutting down Old Dominion. With 10 minutes to go, the score is 67-43. Then we'll watch those scrappy mean Rutgers play.
The early evening will have us at the bowling alley and then more basketball tonight.
If I can walk to my car in the morning, I'll be doing well. The 2 B's - bowling & biking - may be the demise of me. What's that line? What doesn't kill you will make you stronger. I'm waaaaiting.
Hope everyone's Sunday is going well.
I got in a little biking in yesterday and oh. my. goodness. I'd hoped for more today but it never got warm enough for me.
I was hoping GW would upset Rutgers but alas, was not to be. Go UConn! (two more times) :)
Hope you bounce back quickly.

I am smiling. Bing runs every morning and works out daily. I walk the dog twice a day and that is the only work out I get. Whenever we do any sort of hiking, she is always about ten feet ahead of me looking like she wishes she could just carry me on her back instead of having to wait for me....
But, that hot shower feels stupendous doesn't it?

We're waiting for it to warm up a bit more before we take the bikes out, but we're anxious to get going!

LOL ... bet those leg (and possibly arm and stomach, depending on hills) are feeling it today. I've managed to get out on the bike a bit, now that the weather is a bit better. I'm in decent physical shape, but damn if my calves and other leggedly parts didn't feel it for about a week.
And GO UCONN!!! Whooo-HOOOOOOO!
