So... Kris won American Idol. Go underdog! i have always liked him, but he's such a shy kid, it's amazing he's come so far! Adam will surely be ok. I just have a hunch that we'll be hearing from him sometime in the very near future!
What a friggin show it was. Now THAT's entertainment... 2 hours where every second was just an "oh.my.God." moment. The past stars, the funny moments with wacky contestants, the revealed Kara (woohoo!) and oh yeah, lots of great singing! I think this was THE best final that they've ever had. Not sure that they can top this season.
And I'm rooting for the CAV's in the NBA playoffs - not that I'll watch a game, just skim the papers and see what's going on... now that the Celtics are out (yeah, Dave/Cheryl & the rest of the Israeli folks who are BOSTON fans, I have always had a soft spot for the Celtics since the days of Dave Cowens and especially in recent years, as they have Ray Allen from UCONN!). But no repeat for Boston this year. So... GO CAVS! (I know one of my readers will agree with me!)
The weather is beautiful finally - all the windows have been opened and sunny skies are above.
Well, apparently, Tommy the cat seems to have issue with the nice spring weather. Seems after we started opening the windows last weekend, we noticed that he was doing a lot of coughing/choking (like he had a hairball, but nothing ever came up). Poor guy. So off to the vet he went on Tuesday, where I saw the vet that my family has been seeing for the past 30+ years! Great guy. I was suspecting that Tommy either had heart issues or the possibility of diabetes (as I also noted more water consumption - both from water bowl AND toilet! and that he seemed to have put on some weight since we've had him).
Well, he went from 13.5lbs to 16.8lbs (in 6 months!) but the diagnosis seemed to be centered around the breathing as there was lots of internal wheezing coming loud and clear thru the stethoscope.
He recommended a shot of steroids, running some blood work and a pedicure! (seems his nails were a bit excessive!)
The blood work came back this morning and everything is normal. sigh. We're to keep an eye on him and see how he is over the next week or so. Since the steroid shot, Tommy is a new boy. More alert and no coughing. If it is seasonal asthma, there's medication to treat it with.
Who knew?
Upcoming Memorial Day weekend is predicted to be 70's and chance of rain. Typical weather report. Linda & I are heading to the Boston areas on Saturday to visit a friend who had a baby about 6 months ago. And we may do some sightseeing up in that area... keeping the plans loose.
Oh and I just got an e-mail with the bad news that New Hampshire didn't pass the bill that would have made it the next State in the battle for marraige equality. By 2 votes. People. C'mon. GET.OVER.IT. If you live in this state - please make your vote heard.
Now back to work.

You know, I just read something recently about cats having asthma. Who knew? Glad the shot is helping your boy.
I hated the idol results!

Love the last Idol show - what great entertainment! I don't think Adam is going to have trouble being successful :-)
Hope Tommy is Ok.
